Meet Reiki Master Susan

About Susan

Most people who have heard of Reiki know it to be a healing modality taught by a lineage of teachers, each taught by either the Founder Mikao Usui or his very own pupils with the belief that all practitioners derive from that single origin. That is not necessarily so.

There are all kinds of ancient art forms meant to get the unseen energy flowing in the human body. Many were used in self-healing thousands of years ago.

The fact is our hands were meant to heal.

In the mid-1980s, our practitioner was a young mother of two who read extensively on what mainstream society had labeled New Age. The reason for all her personal research was to help her to find answers to questions she had in relation to her own experiences. These experiences involved paranormal and psychic occurrences, along with her empathic abilities.

A friend of hers discovered a workbook on energetic healing (The Art of Spiritual Healing, 1985) and the journey of self-healing and discovery began. Together with some friends, they practiced receiving and giving energy, seeing auric fields, and dowsing among other things.

Not long after their daily exercises, Susan would have a few opportunities to try out her natural and practiced skills on herself when, on two separate occasions, she was burned quite badly.

Â¹Through the use of energy healing, she managed to stop the pain within moments and to speed up the natural process of healing without the use of medication. Despite the seriousness of her burns, the only visible sign she has is a lightly scarred area on the outer part of her left calf where she accidentally leaned in searing-hot muffler of her husband’s motorcycle.

From that moment, Susan’s interest in natural healing modalities only increased and she eventually found her way to the field of Therapeutic Massage in which she holds an associate’s degree. It was, for many years, an unattainable goal and the early desire to want to be of service to others was set aside so that she could be a stay at home mom to her children, one of which is her highly sensitive autistic daughter.

Susan credits part of her gift to having been partially developed through years of non-verbal dialogue with her daughter and her connection with her daughter only grows stronger with each year.

When people meet Susan, they describe her as having a natural calming effect on them and animals have been known to follow her home.

Disclaimer

¹Disclaimer:  Results were acquired over a several day period of 15-minute healing sessions. Results may not be typical for everybody. Reiki is a system that is based on the belief that everyone has free will and that the energies associated with Reiki will act in the best interest of the recipient. As hard as it is to believe, that does not always mean healing.

There are many reasons why natural healings may not work such as a terminally ill patient that is in more pain than their family could imagine. Their wish may be to be released from the pain and suffering of their human vessel and cross over into the pain-free dimension of heaven.

Sometimes a client will unknowingly resist a healing of a simple wound from Reiki so that they may require a trip to a medical professional, where during that visit, they discover an underlying condition that requires extensive medical attention.

Other conditions will alter the effect of Reiki. Certain foods and alcoholic beverages, as well as drugs, could slow or block the energy of Reiki, rendering sessions unsuccessful.

These are just two examples of why Reiki may not work. However, the energy of Reiki will still affect the client in ways that are beneficial to them. They may rest more peacefully, sleep soundly, be in better spirits, or have less pain than before.

The Reiki practitioner does not cure an ailment or injury but instead acts as a channel for the energy so that the energy is directed to the areas of the client’s body--spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical--that will benefit the client best.
